Races of Myserie

Myserie and the rest of the world harbors many secrets. There are others... that live among humans. Those creatures of legends and lore, the Werewolf and Vampire, Monster and Fae, and yes, even The Gifted are real and casting spells, perhaps right next door.

Supernatural Laws:

These laws are known to all the Supernatural Races, respectfully and are IC laws.

  • All Supernaturals -

    1. You must follow the orders of the Local lead for your racial group or face IC Consequences.

    2. As soon as possible of your arrival in Myserie, you must present yourself to the ruling leader or second in command to do the following or be considered a Rogue:

      1. Pledge yourself to the Family, Pack, Court, Tribe, or announce your intentions to remain solitary until further notice.

      2. Obtain permission to feed or hunt within the territory. If you have trouble or do not wish to meet with the Leader, make sure you have made alternative solutions so you are not caught hunting/feeding without authorization.

    3. You will not kill anyone outright. This includes all races, unless attacked first and doing it in self defense. To do so could bring Hunters down and endanger us all.

    4. The siring or turning of a child has significant repercussions and violates our most sacred laws and holds a law of execution for both Sire and the child Progeny upon discovery. (and also has OOC repercussions as well since it violates the underage rule.)

    5. The uninitiated shall not be brought to our sacred spaces, such as the Vampire Lair, Underhill, Pack Den, etc. unless they are properly escorted. This includes other races as well.

    6. The Revelation of oneself is a personal choice and to reveal another without their consent holds the same severity as unprovoked murder and the punishment will be handled accordingly.

  • Fae -

  1. No Fae shall expose their raw, unfiltered, unglamoured form to a non-fae without taking proper precautions, or receiving approval from an Admin for a larger scale reveal.

  2. While Fae are known and expected to be quite the tricksters, excessive displays of chaos and destruction will be frowned upon if it brings the Courts or the Hunter’s Association undesired attention. You may be called on to appear in front of the Court and will be dealt with accordingly.

  • Shifters -

  1. All turning/infecting must be approved by the Alpha prior to it happening, though all offenses will be judged on a case-by-case basis.

  2. Humans and other Supernaturals are NEVER to be eaten! To do so causes irreparable harm  and corruption to oneself.

  • The Gifted -

    1. Resurrection is highly taboo, unless under very specific circumstances approved by the High Priest(ess) (and Admins).

    2. Otherworldly Beings are not to be summoned without the sanctioning of a High Priest or Priestess and is highly dangerous if even attempted. (Admins too!)

  • Vampires -

    1. Sires are responsible for the actions of their Fledgling Progeny and as such will need to keep them in control of their hunger. Any violations committed by the Fledgling will result in the punishment of both them and their Sire.

    2. Feeding on another vampire is considered taboo outside of bonding, making pacts, and siring. Being caught and the repercussions is dependent on the Local Baron(ess)'s whims.

    3. No Vampire is able to visit the Underhill realm. They are either unable to enter the portal, or are thrown out to some random corner of the world.

Additional Notes:
  • The Sun rises and sets according to the local Environmental Effects. You can also see this with the Weather System on sim.

  • Hybrids - No matter what, if your character’s parents are of different “races” they would end up either or, never a half breed or hybrid. They may, however, retain some physical aesthetics of both parents, tusks from an orc father, scales from a mer mother, etc.

  • All Supernaturals can, with OOC permission, Sense Others of their own race, but not a Vampire sensing a Gifted, for example. This must be done with OOC permission and only means your character recognizes the same race as themselves, not specifics such as School for Gifted, sub-race of Fae, species of Shifter, or what Bloodline of Vampire that character may be. Beast-kin do see through each other’s Colorless trait, however.

    • How the senses work are as follows: Shifters smell one another. Vampires do not see other Vampires as food. Fae sees each other’s aura. Gifted feel the vibrations or hear the frequency of one another.

    • Only a Racial Faction Lead can recognize their own race in another character without OOC permission.

    • Sensing where Supernaturals (including their own race) congregate or where faction bases are located cannot be done without permission from the Faction or Racial Lead. (IM them to see if you can schedule a meet-up.)

    • Additionally, keep in mind that all faction bases are heavily secured, guarded, and unable to be broken or snuck into without the Faction Leader’s permission.

    • All of this includes other heightened sensory abilities being used. (Scent, Taste, Sight, Touch, and Hearing.) In order to use these senses to identify another character’s race or anything about them, the player needs OOC permission from the one the attempt is made on, and to make a Competing Roll (if they are trying to mask their scent, for example.), or a Deciding Roll (if they are not trying to hide).

  • There are no Demons, Angels, or Celestials of any kind in the world of Myserie.

Magical vs Innate Abilities:

Within the Myserie universe the magical abilities of The Gifted are divided from innate abilities of most races, such as the glamour of a Fae or the compulsion of a Vampire.

  • Innate Abilities are, as the name implies, intrinsic to that race. While it requires practice to master an innate ability, it is something every member of that race can “just do” to some degree. It is in a sense like a bird’s ability to fly: Despite its great complexities it simply comes natural to them.

  • Magical Abilities are unique to The Gifted and rely on theory and formula, on academia, to get anywhere with them. While all witches do have the innate ability to tap into the ley lines this is a passive trait which begins to manifest at puberty and requires years of training to be able to actually draw that power in and shape it in accordance to the Gifted’s intent into what would be recognized as a spell—Indeed trying to use magical abilities can be quite deadly to a would-be Gifted without training, rather like grabbing a high voltage power line without being insulated.

The Grand Council.jpg

The Grand Council is made up of one Councilor and one apprentice or assistant for that Councilor, from each race, along with a representative from the Hunters as well and each is among the oldest and most respected of their line.

With the aftermath of the Revelation, Supernaturals are realizing they may need to stick together, now, more than ever.
