The Hunter's Association

The Hunter's Association is a group comprised of Humans from specific Families, and Vollstrecker, something not quite Human anymore, who’ve been trained to hunt Supernaturals and deal with the worst of them. This group know Supernaturals secrets and that knowledge is only passed through families via books, diaries, letters, and word of mouth.

Several Families have alliances and allies throughout the Supernatural community, though there are some who are more likely to go after any Supernatural, or a specific kind due to some past trauma, betrayal, or just plain racism. (If you would like your character to have an alliance with a specific family, faction, or race, contact a Mentor or the Faction Leader, respectively, to see if this would be agreeable.)

Localized Hunter Families:

Your character can come from one of these and must bear the last name, or you can have your character come from another Hunter Family that isn’t local. Work with the Local Hunter Lead to assure that your character can blend smoothly with the rest of the Hunter Community.

De’Rolo Family:

The eldest member and leader of this family is Percival De’Rolo and though he is gaining in age, his mind is as sharp as ever, as is his aim. The De’Rolos specialize in hunting and maintaining Vampires in the greater Oregon region, and have a main estate somewhere outside of Seattle.

Samson Family:

Headed by Victor, the family fronts as demolition experts. While this family tends to lean toward the more secluded and secretive of lifestyles, the rumors abound that they are the ones called in to handle the Fae when they go too far. Rumors also circulate that Old Victor is as crazy as they come from having dealt with the Fae for too long. The rest of the family, when they pop up, seem to be fairly sane.

Ulfrsorg Family:

Specializing in the tracking, identifying and hunting of wayward and feral Shifters, this family comes from the northern part of Oregon and manages a tri-state area with the help of neighboring families and packs. Most packs in the area have a contact in the family for the purpose of informing them of ferals running wild. Rumor has it that the leader, Geralt, was infected by a wolf and still maintains the family while running a pack of his own in Canada.

Stoughton Family:

Born from a long line of Gifted hunters and led by Olivia Stoughton, they are constantly trying to make amends for one of their ancestors' panicked killing sprees in 1692. Times have changed, and over the years several of this family have intermingled and married into and married in from various Gifted families as well, though no Gifted born of this line is inducted as a Hunter, many Hunters of this line have a rather extensive knowledge of what spells do what, etc.

Ashenbury Family:

Barely anything is known about this family and what they do. Originally thought to be Hunters that specialize in Fae, after the reveal it is becoming more known that they are and always have hunted and maintained the Beast-kin of the world. Given how few and sparse the Beast-kin have been, the family is just as thin and rare to find.

The Association:

  • Hunters are a profession passed down through families. You can be adopted or integrated into the family, usually at a young age, as most Hunter tactics are family secrets. As a Hunter is trained to deal with supernatural races, they do have some skills that make them a little better than your average human, but keep in mind, they are still very much human.

  • Hunters are stronger and faster than most average humans, but still within human limits and this is due to their training, not to being enhanced in any way. They will never be as fast as a Vampire or Lycanthrope.

  • Aura of Unease: Can sense something “wrong” around them. They know what magic feels like, and may know when a supernatural is near but nothing more. (Deciding Roll.) They can not pinpoint who is using the magic, or who is the supernatural, or even what type they are. Only that some are around.

  • Special knowledge: While they’ve learned many of the weaknesses of several Supernaturals, they do not know a lot about all of them, and Families stick to specializing with one race. (Pick a race on the application.)

A Hunter’s Weapons:

  • Standard issue weaponry. Only the kinds of things you would be able to purchase legally.

  • Stakes, Silver bullets and knives, etc. Keep in mind how odd they look and the durability or instability of said weapons.

  • Any Special or Unique weapons need approval. This includes military grade weaponry. (Contact a Mentor.)

  • Enchanted weapons do need approval or to be done by a player Witch and the magic needs to be maintained regularly. (Keep logs.)

  • Family Diaries and Ledgers: These are books, scrolls, etc that the Hunter can refer to that may contain valuable information on the specific Supernatural they may be hunting or trying to gain knowledge about. (Deciding Roll. Searching information outside the Family’s specialization would be harder to find or know.)

Note: This Faction will be limited to a select few in numbers to keep the ratios proportioned. Due to this, this faction will be closed off on the application from time to time.

Should you wish to apply as a hunter, apply in as a human and keep an eye on notices and contact a Mentor when the option comes available again. They would be the same character, but, for example, their Hunter gear was finally released from customs, or they were undercover trying to track something down and now they can get to work. Staff is more than willing to help you work your current human storyline into that of a Hunter.
